ReShift℠ Learning, Academic Support & Life Skills

ReShift℠ Learning & Life Skills

When a child wants to do better but does not know how to get there.

Game-based academic support, executive-function skills,
confidence building, organization, problem-solving,
and practical guidance for children and teens who feel stuck.

ReShift looks for the missing step, changes the strategy,
creates achievable wins, and helps young people experience
themselves becoming more capable.

The ReShift Idea

Sometimes moving forward starts by going backward
and finding the step that was missed.

A child can look unmotivated when the work has quietly become
too difficult, confusing, disorganized, frustrating, or overwhelming.

ReShift asks a different question:

What is getting in the way — and what skill can we build next?

Look Under The Behavior

“They won’t do it” does not always tell us why.

“Math Is Too Hard.”

A student may be struggling with current work because
an earlier skill never became automatic.

Instead of piling harder work on top of the gap,
ReShift can step backward, strengthen the missing skill,
and build forward again.

“I Forgot Again.”

Missing assignments, lost papers, forgotten homework,
poor planning, and difficulty starting may point to
executive-function needs rather than lack of caring.

ReShift teaches systems that make responsibilities
easier to see, organize, start, and finish.

“I’m Just Bad At School.”

Repeated failure can change the way a child sees themselves.

Small achievable successes can begin rebuilding
competence, motivation, persistence,
and the willingness to try again.

What ReShift Builds

More than homework help.

Academic Skills

Targeted support in areas such as math,
reading, writing, homework, and foundational skills
that may need strengthening.

Executive Function

Planning, organization, task initiation,
time management, remembering responsibilities,
and breaking large jobs into manageable steps.

Learning Strategies

Helping young people discover how they learn,
practice, remember, study, and solve problems effectively.

Frustration Tolerance

Learning how to stay with difficult work,
recover from mistakes, ask for help,
and keep going instead of shutting down.

Confidence

Confidence that grows from real mastery,
effort, progress, accomplishment,
and discovering personal strengths.

Life Skills

Communication, responsibility, goal-setting,
follow-through, problem-solving,
and skills that matter beyond school.

Learning Should Feel Like Progress

ReShift turns growth into a game.

Instead of only focusing on what went wrong,
ReShift makes effort, improvement,
persistence, and skill-building visible.

01

Missions

Turn goals and learning tasks
into clear, achievable challenges.

02

Points

Earn progress for effort,
follow-through, skill-building,
persistence, and achievement.

03

Level Up

Watch progress become visible
as skills, confidence,
and responsibility grow.

04

Unlock

Work toward meaningful milestones,
opportunities, experiences,
and larger challenges.

The goal is not to reward children for already being good at something.
The goal is to make effort, persistence, improvement,
responsibility, and growth worth chasing.

Why ReShift Is Part Of ReConnect

Learning struggles can become disconnection.

A child who repeatedly feels unsuccessful may begin disconnecting
from school, effort, confidence, adults, goals,
and eventually from the belief that they are capable.

ReShift is designed to help rebuild that connection.

Reconnect With Learning

Replace repeated confusion and avoidance
with understanding, strategy, and achievable progress.

Reconnect With Confidence

Help young people experience themselves solving problems,
learning skills, improving, and succeeding.

Reconnect With Possibility

Build enough momentum that school,
goals, activities, and future opportunities
begin feeling possible again.

Progress Can Open Bigger Doors

ReShift does not have to end at the desk.

ReShift is part of the larger ReConnect program world.
As participants build skills, responsibility,
persistence, and confidence, their progress can connect
with future opportunities across other youth programs.

That may eventually include larger projects,
creative opportunities, real-world challenges,
community experiences, and eligible participation
in programs such as HighOctane Heroes.

Build skills. Build confidence. Build what comes next.

The Right Support For The Right Need

ReShift is not a replacement for therapy or specialized education.

ReShift is an educational, executive-function,
confidence, and practical skill-building program.

Some young people may also benefit from mental-health treatment,
formal educational evaluation, accommodations,
specialized instruction, or other professional services.

When another type of support is needed,
the goal is not to pretend ReShift can replace it.
The goal is to help families identify the right next step.

Help A Young Person Get Back On Track

A child should not lose access to opportunity
because their family cannot afford extra support.

Our Youth Access & Scholarship Fund helps reduce financial
barriers to educational support, program participation,
supplies, activities, transportation assistance,
and other opportunities for eligible children and teens.

Sometimes one missing skill changes everything.
Help us give a young person the chance to find it.
