At On The Other Side of the Fence,
our rescue dogs are more than animals in recovery.
They are part of the journey.
Dogs respond to calm communication, patience,
consistency, clear expectations, and trust ā
many of the same skills we help young people develop.
more than 20 years of dog obedience training experience
with clinical experience as a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Behavior is communication ā and safety, environment,
relationships, consistency, regulation, and learned skills matter.
Healing for the dogs. Growth for the kids. Hope for both.
š¶ Sebastian
Sebastianās Story
Sebastian was found abandoned in Morriston
with a large tumor that required immediate veterinary care.
After surgery and treatment, Sebastian was recovering well.
Unfortunately, his tumor now appears to be returning.
An amputation is likely to be the next step,
which means Sebastian may soon become a
three-legged pup.
Estimated to be around 3ā5 years old,
Sebastian continues to be an incredibly gentle and affectionate
dog who simply needed someone willing to give him a chance.
Veterinary care already provided
Estimated additional cost if amputation is needed
Sebastianās medical story may be changing,
but the promise we made to him has not.
He deserves the care he needs and the chance to keep moving forward.
