Tutoring, Anger Management & Hands-On Skills for Teens
The Accelerate Your Dreams Scholarship is a youth skills scholarship that gives teens access to meaningful tutoring, anger management and communication skills training, and hands-on skill-building that can lead to real career pathways.
This program exists because too many capable young people are stuck β not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack support, structure, and opportunities that pull them away from screens and into real-world learning.
We donβt keep kids busy.
We help them build something real.
What Scholarship Participants Receive Each Week
This scholarship provides multiple layers of support that work together to create real change β academically, behaviorally, and practically.
π Academic Tutoring & School Support Lab
Required for all scholarship recipients, based on academic need:
-
Students below a C average in any subject:
β 2 hours per week -
Students maintaining all Cβs or higher:
β 30-minute weeklyΒ
Tutoring focuses on:
-
Closing learning gaps
-
Strengthening core skills
-
Improving focus, follow-through, and confidence
-
Preventing academic backslide before grades drop
This ensures struggling students receive enough time to actually improve, while successful students remain accountable and supported.
π§ Anger Management & Communication Skills Training
Required for all scholarship recipients:
-
β 1β2 hours per week focused on:
-
Anger management and impulse control
-
Communication skills for school, work, and family
-
Conflict resolution and accountability
-
Managing frustration without shutdowns or outbursts
-
These are practical, skills-based sessions, not lectures or labels. Teens learn how to respond under pressure β a skill that directly impacts grades, relationships, and long-term success.
π§ Hands-On Skill & Career Enrichment
The Game-Changer
This is where everything connects.
Participants engage in hands-on learning that replaces screen time with skill time, including:
-
Mechanical and technical skill-building
-
Tool use, shop safety, and project completion
-
Team-based problem solving
-
Learning how things work β and how to fix them
Instead of spending hours on video games, teens are:
-
Building
-
Creating
-
Troubleshooting
-
Completing real projects they can see and touch
For many students, this is the first time learning feels relevant β and the first step toward careers in trades, mechanics, media, or technical fields.
Why This Approach Works
Teens learn best when they can connect effort to outcome.
Hands-on skill-building:
-
Improves focus and motivation
-
Builds confidence through accomplishment
-
Reinforces problem-solving and persistence
-
Opens doors to career paths that donβt require traditional classrooms
This approach is supported by respected education and youth development organizations:
