As Mahatma Gandhi Famously said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

The pet overpopulation epidemic is so staggering that for every animal born in the United States to have a home each and every human being would have to own 6 dogs and 9 cats. So, in actuality a family of four…2 parents and 2 small children would have to own 24 dogs and 36 cats.

We are having our 1st annual Walk Naked In The Park event to raise $5,000.00 to help support our educational workshops, spay neuter assistance program, and to help care for the homeless animals in their care. On The Other Side of the Fence will challenge and lead our communities to achieve an Animal Rescue that includes a shelter for homeless animals, a workshop for educational programs, a low cost spay/neuter clinic and a fenced in dog park for pet owners.

VISION:

To help prevent the needless suffering of animals and lend a hand to our community.

Cat Sanctuary Room

A room with lots of toys, scratching posts, edible plants, lounging pads, and an open window which leads to a 300 sq ft fenced enclosure. This room will be for any homeless kitties which can get along with each other. Kitties that need more privacy will be kept in a more private area to make them more comfortable. All cats will be available for adoption.

What we need to complete this project:

250’ x 6’ of small gauge fencing. Chicken wire?---------Fence Posts---------Linoleum---------Linoleum Glue---------

Linoleum Roller (Temporary use)---------Cat Toys--------CAT FOOD--------Nails

Dog Run

All homeless puppies and dogs taken in by "On The Other Side of the Fence" will be brought into our home and fostered as one of our own. They will get individual attention and basic obedience training. While the dog/puppy is being potty trained he/she will sleep in a kennel next to our own bed. The dog run will consist of a fenced in area of not less than 1,000 sq feet. Using concrete will help keep the ground from becoming a mud hole, keep fleas away, and make it a lot easier to sanitize.
