ADOPTION FEES:
Theothersideofthefence.org is considered by some to be a "hard rescue organization". We are supported mainly out of our Board members own pockets (2 of us), supplemented by adoption donations and a small percentage of donations from the public. We are not a government run facility. In addition to treating the usual minor medical conditions such as demodex mange, vaccinating, and altering, we also arrange for more expensive procedures such as long term care for heartworm treatments, emergency tooth extractions, and emergency eye removal, to name a few.
Our veterinarians are generous and loving professionals, who support our efforts. In order to pay veterinary bills, mortgage for the rescue, food, treats, and all other costs associated with running an animal rescue (we care for approx. 50 cats/dogs at a time), we must ask for an "adoption fee" or "adoption donation." The adoption donation for purebreed cats and kittens ranges between $90-$150. The adoption donation for all other kittens is $90.00 and for cats over 7 months of age is $35-$70. To see our available animals call 573-686-7551. We do not have a full time staff available so we can only show pets upon appointment.
We are available to show animals Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday after 5pm. and Thursday, Saturday, Sunday after 11am.
