ADOPTION FEES:
Theothersideofthefence.org is considered by some to be a "hard rescue organization". We are supported mainly out of our Board members own pockets (2 of us), supplemented by adoption donations and a small percentage of donations from the public. We are not a government run facility. In addition to treating the usual minor medical conditions such as demodex mange, vaccinating, and altering, we also arrange for more expensive procedures such as long term care for heartworm treatments, emergency tooth extractions, and emergency eye removal, to name a few.
Our veterinarians are generous and loving professionals, who support our efforts. In order to pay veterinary bills, mortgage for the rescue, food, treats, and all other costs associated with running an animal rescue (we care for approx. 50 cats/dogs at a time), we must ask for an "adoption fee" or "adoption donation." The adoption donation for purebreed cats and kittens ranges between $90-$150. The adoption donation for all other kittens is $90.00 and for cats over 7 months of age is $35-$70. Thank you all for understanding our application process.

We do not have a full time staff available so we can only show pets upon appointment.
We are available to show animals Monday- Friday after 5pm. Saturday-Sunday after 11am.

1 year old FEMALE SIAMESE MIX
I am a very slender beauty. I will follow you around and demand attention from you. Mommy was killed by a car, and left this beauty all alone. Unable to eat, a wonderful volunteer helped bottle feed her, until, thank goodness, we were certain she would live (which seemed like a long shot at first), and now she is doing great!!! Please be her forever home!! If you want a very beautiful playful kitten, you are looking for ME! I am now 6 months old, and have been at the rescue since I was 3 weeks old!!!
UPDATE: Pearl had been adopted for about two months and left outside. Her ears were so sun burned the tips fell off!! She has been back at the rescue for over a month now and the vet said no long term damaga was done, but that she should go to a home where she will be kept indoors away from the sun.
My adoption donation is $75.00 and includes my spay, worming, vaccines, plus 30 days flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
